The CV40 amplifier is the result of a long period of research and development on cathode-follower tube amplifiers.
In the end, it was this scheme that was chosen for its great qualities of precision, dynamics associated with the respect of the stamps we were looking for.
The CV40 is a fully tube amplifier equipped with Circlotron technology.
Invented by Electro Voice in the 1950s and forgotten by the manufacturers, the Solen team took over and improved it.
Thanks to this architecture, the push-pull of the EL34 drive loudspeakers at low impedance. The CV40 amplifier thus benefits from the natural smoothness and precision of tube electronics, but also from the speed characteristic of transistor amplifiers.
The “double mono” power supply and the low feedback rate made possible by the high linearity guarantee an excellent spatialization of the sound image. In addition to its original architecture, the CV40 amplifier offers a neat realization in an all-aluminium case. Also, the sequence of the pre heating of the tubes ensures the reliability of the power tubes.
